This was considered a very complex project, due to the client’s needs and the steep location which overlooks the sea. The client wanted a simple and yet complex layout. This was because he is fascinated by curves and planetary rotations. Because of its layout, it was possible to have a very irregular shape wrapped around the circular mill. The villa is also vertically complex. It was developed through the use of stair steps, on two levels, taking advantage of the natural slope of the land, alternating sloping roofs, roof garden and big verandas, overlooking the wonderful Deep Bay. The covering in local stone, the use of wooden roofs and the roof garden (covered with tropical plants and flowers), give the structure the perfect camouflage with the environment. In fact isn’t possible to estimate the dimension of the villa from the sea.
The external Jaccuzzi is circular, while the Infinity swimming pool has a curved shape that from the veranda, appears parallel to Deep Bay beach. This is of course an optical illusion, which gives a singular sensation, because the predominant colour of the house is grey. It is also the colour of the walls, roof and flooring (Cotto D’Este), sliding doors and internal doors. The entire exterior is covered by a Brazilian wood (Cumaru), there is also a Boffi steel shower.
The kitchen is Dada, the sofas are Natuzzi, the bathroom items are Flaminia, the taps are Newform and the fans are Boffi.
The furniture consists mainly of Ligne Roset (sofa, lamps and table), the bedrooms, the studio office and TV room are Cassina and Molteni and B&B.
